I didn't feel mine until slightly later but at around 24 it was mostly just periods of activity in the morning and evening I noticed. Now at 27 it's throughout the day, not sure or the amount but almost hourly - bi hourly whilst I'm awake.

Spoke to my midwife about this yesterday @Expectingbsbunumber2 because I'm 28 weeks now and can't really pick out a daily pattern, so to speak.

I feel him intermittently throughout the day usually but then have days where I'm barely aware of feeling him at all. She actually said that having a few 'crazy' days and then a quiet day may well be the pattern he is in, if that makes sense. It put my mind at rest anyway!

I usually feel baby move everyday just a few movements. That's really reassuring to hear as was reading up that you should feel baby move atleast. 10 times a day x

I don't think there's a set number, I've worried a bit as I still can't really identify a pattern. Sometimes she goes quiet for hours, some nights she wakes me up. It's quite random!

Expectingbsbunumber2 · 19/08/2017 21:17

I'm the same. I feel mostly when I'm lay down at Night, it's just the odd 3 or 4 movemtns x

The 10 movements is considered outdated now. Check out the kicks count website for the best advice.

I only started feeling movements properly at about 24 weeks. Since then he seems to get active whenever I eat or have a warm drink and at around 4am...

He also likes to have a lie in on Saturdays just like my DH lol. I often won't feel him move on Saturday til after 12pm!

Try ti pick out a couple of consistent times you feel movement e.g after eating lunch and focus around that time to ensure you are feeling them. If you aren't getting movements at a time you would expect then lie down and have a cold drink or something sugary and if you don't feel movements within the hour then get checked out.

I'm 22 weeks and feel him at periods throughout the day. More movement late morning, then again tea time and again late at night. They seem to fall in a pattern. Ooooh another Xmas baby Wink

Expectingbsbunumber2 · 20/08/2017 08:11

I'm trying I work out the pattern, he does like to move after I've eaten 🙈 Ahh are you due on the 23rd too? How exciting!!!

littlelouse I'm exactly the same. I'm 28 weeks on Monday and at 26 weeks I went and had a 4D scan because I was due to go on a 2 weeks beach holiday and got slightly panicked. But he's was doing absolutely fine. It's reassuring to hear that your MW explained that having blasts of activity followed by quiet time can be the baby's pattern. I've got MW on Wednesday when back from hol so I'll mention it to her as well.

Littlelouse · 20/08/2017 09:21

@Sakura03 definitely. After I'd explained that no, he didn't seem to have a pattern she said 'well, that sounds like it is his pattern' which made me feel a bit silly but I suppose I was expecting it to be something like 'very active after mealtimes' etc as previous posters have mentioned!

I'm going for a 4D scan next week. Was it good?

Sakura03 · 20/08/2017 09:55

The 4D scan was amazing! As with my 20 week scan it took a while for him to show his face, he likes having a foot or his hands close to his nose but eventually we managed to get some shots of his little face. Good luck with your scan Littlelouse, let us know how it goes Smile
