27 Weeks & sharp pinching pain in vagina / cliterous?

TMI naturally but I'm bemused and wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

I have PGP and am not sure if it's related but I constantly feel like I'm being pinched down there and at times it feels really sharp and burning almost, like getting electrocuted. It takes my breath away and is too painful to ignore but the really sharp pains only last a few seconds.

Getting in the bath or applying pressure seems to help slightly.

Just wondering what on Earth causes it, if it has a name (lightening crotch seems a highly accurate description but everything I've read about that seems to refer to it being more of a shooting pain 'upwards' which I've also had and this is different) and if anyone else is having it?

I had them with DS pregnancy and also had them yesterday with this pregnancy but always towards the end (I'm currently 38+3). Heard some describe them as 'fanny daggers' so could try googling that term!
They do take your breath away but I'm not worried, I take it to be your body preparing and if baby is sitting on a nerve I guess that could trigger some pain.
But mention it to your midwife when next see them - even use the term 'fanny daggers' as it describes it well!

It is also called lightening crotch. I believe it is baby bashing your cervix. It is horrid isn't it?
