Morning!
I told my sister last night that I was pregnant and she was really happy but then she told me stuff about my mum that I hadn't known (my mum has passed)
Apparently my mum had 4 miscarriages and as my sister says it's a condition where the baby falls out???? She said my mum had to have a procedure to not lose me!
Does anyone know condition this could be? And is it hediatary?
Slightly worried!
Xxx

I have no experience but it sounds like your mum may have had a cervical stitch. Have you had your booking appointment? They'll take a brief family medical history so you could mention what your sister told you. Congratulations.

I agree, sounds like a cervical stitch.

Sounds like an incompetent cervix so she had a stitch. Worth mentioning but I'm sure you'll be fine.

Thanks ladies! I'm sure I'll feel better once I tell the midwife and I have a scan in a few weeks x

Yes incompetent cervix and cervical stitch. I doubt it has any hereditary aspects but you can mention it when midwife checks your history. Your cervix will get checked during the pregnancy anyway.
