Bugaboo / car seat and mk4 golf

We have bought a bugaboo second hand but all the car seats which fit into the bugaboo (Maxi cost, joie and another which I've forgotten) don't seem to be right for our car. The isofix bases that we've tried are at such an angle that the baby's position would be quite upright. The only one that fitted perfectly was the joie i-Gemm which has not been tested on our golf model (quite old 2002), so can't be sure it's safe? It has been tested on newer golfs and all ok. The base had an adjustable angle and it all fitted great, but mothercare said it had not been tested on our model. We also tried the baby car seats without the base and just the belts but the angle was even worse! Any advice appreciated!

Not sure if my answer is helpful but I've had to get the Joie i-Gemm + base as the maxi cosi we originally ordered had the same issue as you with it tilting upwards. My car is a 2013 Nissan Qashqai (which won best family car of the year awards?!) and yet would you believe it the seat belts in the back are physically not long enough to strap a car seat in, so we are dependent on using an ISO-fix base. The Joie one hasn't been tested on my model (but has on newer Qashqais) and the Mamas and Papas employee who showed me how to install it in my car said it was at the right angle, so I'm having to trust their judgement on that one!

That is really helpful. I guess joie aren't testing the car seat on newer models.
