Hi all,

I'm 39 + 2 and have a toddler DD. Long story short- toddler takes medicine every day for a condition. The meds make her very hyper and at times, very angry and aggressive. It's been hard, I have just about been coping.

Anyway, the only reason I'm writing this morning is because I've woken up with a massive headache, really tired and considering letting her watch CBeebies all day. Is that bad? For the first time, I really can't muster any energy to do anything but feeling like the worst mum in the world.

Sounds like you need it OP, no shame in a quiet day! Any chance of a run around the garden later to burn off some energy? Either way I'd do it.

Do what you have to do. She will probably watch a lot more once the baby arrives. I know of no oldest siblings who haven't had a brief period of their lives with more tv than is perhaps ideal, but it won't be every day and it won't be forever.

Be kind to yourself! Flowers

No of course its not bad. TV is not harmful no matter what some mums will have you believe.

Well it's unlikely to help, her hyperactivity and aggressiveness but won't kill her for a day.

Do you have other symptoms apart from headache? Swollen ankles? If it doesn't settle call your midwife and get your BP and urine checked.

Hi OP

Don't worry about CBeebies. It's great. Telly isn't bad as people make it out to be.

Go easy on yourself.

No problem to let your DD watch CBeebies all day. You have another baby to care for to by looking after yourself. However I would consider popping to the doctors or calling the midwife to see if she can come to you and test your urine for protein (I think). You are in late pregnancy so need to look after yourself and be aware of signs of pre eclampsia.
Rest up OP.

Thanks everyone 😊 I hate not doing stuff with her but struggling today! We do have a garden but raining at the moment, hopefully it will clear later! I'm up North and we haven't had the best of weather recently!

Headache a lot better now I've had a drink and my breakfast - no other PE signs so not worried about that for the time being. Will keep an eye on it xxx
