Hi, I am 39 weeks pregnant and have THE worst external piles. I've never suffered with them before pregnancy and am really worried that they won't go away before labour.. I have used suppositories, cream, ice pack, warm bath, witch hazel... nothing seems to work! It hurts to walk and to sit down. I really don't want to have to have surgery for them after birth. I've got a donut cushion to sit on which helps a bit but sitting seems to aggravate them too. I can't push them back in- they won't budge and I don't want to force them! Any advice would be much appreciated!

Hey I'm 39 weeks and had to go to the out of hours doctors at the weekend as I have a pile which is utter agony. They have me cream with local anaesthetic in it and it defo helped but it's not reducing in size at all and it won't go back in. I think the baby might be putting loads pressure on that area and that's why. What happened to your piles after labour? I had this particular pile after labour with my first but after a little while it went away with no further probs but I didn't didnt have it before labour Confused
