Maternity Pillow

Hi, can anyone recommend a maternity pillow please? I'm having trouble sleeping, with bump and back pain and I thought a pillow may help. I've had a look at the Dreamgenii and Theraline but I'm struggling to decide between the two. Does anyone have any views on these or other maternity pillows? Thanks! x

I have the Sanggol one and I'd marry it if I could.

I hated the Dream Genii. Lots of people on here recommend the Theraline

I got a big u shaped one from Love2sleep. Love it! I thought the u shape would be better for my back - haven't tried any others to compare but it's certainly comfy!

Rolled up. Up a spare double duvet and stuck some pillow cases on each end and used that as a body pillow.

I didn't want to fork out for a pillow I'd use for less than a year.

I had a dream genie pillow called Jeffrey. I took him it to bed with me every night.

TheLegendOfBeans · 17/08/2017 20:23

The Theraline. No question. It's the absolute business and not too big and bulky either.

Argos body pillow, about £16

I found out I'm pregnant 3 days ago and this thread has made me massively excited about digging my pillow back out! (Was a cheapy maternity pillow from Amazon.) But now I'm off to google lust over your recommendations. Will I love a more expensive pillow more? Or are the cheapies just as good?

rainbowpie · 17/08/2017 20:34

You can't cheat on your pillow glitter

I've got a dream genie and hate the damn thing! I cut the weird dangly thing off the end of it and is it propped behind me as a V shaped pillow now 🙈

Rosehyd2 · 17/08/2017 20:58

I love my dreamgenii! It's transformed my sleeping. My husband also likes it because it doesn't feel like a third person in the bed (some other pillows are huge!) For me the dreamgenii had all the right support and was a perfect size. It stops me rolling onto my back too which was important to me.

Ah fab, thank you for all the suggestions Smile. I've ordered the Sanggol one as both my bump and back are painful so I thought that might be best but we will see! It's due to arrive today although typically I had the best night's sleep in months last night! Hmm

I'm sure it'll be worth the investment anyway! Smile I tend to lie my bump down onto the one arm of the Sanggol, then stuff the other one behind my back, and then put an additional normal pillow on top of the back arm too in case I feel I need even more back support during the night. Hth Grin

Oh and I've also found sleep success does seem to go through different kinds of phases...

GlitterRollerSkate · 19/08/2017 07:06

@rainbowpie I do love my pillow but I wonder if there is more to life a better pillow

@DropsofJupiter1980 please let me know what it's like. My husband thinks I am mental that I'm excited by buying a new pillow. to cheat on my old one

doli27 · 19/08/2017 07:12

I highly recommend the bb hug me pregnancy pillow. It's very pricey but after buying 2 cheaper pillows and still waking up in pain every few hours it's been worth every penny! I got mine from scandiborn
