Is diarrhoea a normal early pregnancy symptom?

I'm pregnant, currently just 4 weeks so very early days.
I miscarried last month at 6 weeks. 3 days before the mc I got diarrhoea and it didn't go until about a week after my mc.
I've woken up with diarrhoea again this morning and am fretting the same will happen.
Can anyone tell me if this is just a normal symptom of early pregnancy ?
Thanks

I had diarrhoea early on in my last pregnancy and he's now a strapping 15 year old

Yes it is, it's how I knew I was pregnant 2nd time. It unfortunately can hit at any time in pregnancy but at the beginning it's where you hormones and digestive system are getting ready to feed another life. Good luck!

Ketchup123 · 17/08/2017 07:23

Yep. Enjoy, because in a few weeks it will turn to constipation!

Was normal for me. Congratulations and fingers crossed all goes well

Expectingbsbunumber2 · 17/08/2017 09:25

Yes it is. I had this a few times in the earlier stage of my pregnancy x

I had terrible stomach upset in the first few weeks of pregnancy with my first daughter. I mentioned it to the doctor and he said it wasn't a symptom he had heard of and that I'd probably picked up a bug. I'm certain it was a very early symptom for me though.

Another one for me was a very runny and blocked nose almost from conception Grin

Yes for me. Good luck!

I did and still do at 11 weeks. Not my favourite symptom. Might be related to the fact that fruit juice stops me feeling sick so I've been guzzling it like there's no tomorrow!

I had severe diarrhoea with dc1. Really bad cramps and pooing up until week 16..she's turning 10 soon 😊 and is a pain in the arse in other ways now.

CuckooCuckooClock · 17/08/2017 09:45

I had mild diarrhoea throughout both my pregnancies. I'm convinced that's just the way my body reacts to the hormones and it was preferable to going the other way.
Best of luck x

I'm the same as Cuckoo

It's normal for your bowels to go either way. It's due to hormone changes :)

Good day ladies, my fiance and I have been trying to conceive for over a year now and at the start, I had super irregular period. I am now ovulating and get my period on a regular basis but I am 22 days late and I've been have some slight uncomfortable pains and diarrhea. I also feel nauseated very quickly. I took a test about 2 weeks ago and both came back negative. Please help by sharing your experience if you have experienced any of this while trying to concieve.

SunnySideUp2020 · 17/02/2022 07:07

For me it is part of early pregnancy unfortunately... 🥲

SunnySideUp2020 · 17/02/2022 07:10

Did you test again recently?
Also this is a very old post. Better to start a new thread!

Mommyof2almost · 17/02/2022 07:40

I had diarrhoea when I was around 4/5 weeks pregnant too, it lasted a few days and calmed down after that. Congratulations :)
