Iv taken nearly a whole packet of paracetamol so far in this pregnancy be sure of headaches

Lauralou031986 · 22/08/2017 17:40

How many in a day would you take tho?

blueobsessive · 22/08/2017 17:54

@laura Same dose as you would as a non pregnant person. Don't take more than the pack says is ok. The fatal dose is rather close to the therapeutic dose irrespective of pregnancy. Ibuprofen, i think, is not recommended. No lemsip (paras are fine it's the decogenstent that they haven't data on - it's quite tricky in ethics terms to test on pregnant women).

Hope you feel better soon

As someone with rheumatoid - thank goodness for paras!

Lauralou031986 · 22/08/2017 18:03

Thanks guys, think I just need to start wearing my glasses more

CL1982 · 22/08/2017 18:36

Anyone around 12-13 weeks had jabbing pains @low down? Like prodding almost. Not painful.

I need to relax. I am very anxious this week. No more pregnancy books for me!!!

mummyGof2boys · 22/08/2017 18:52

@CL1982 put the pregnancy books down. I honestly think they are the worst things. Fanny daggers are unfortunately another pregnancy symptom that will continue until you have the baby. They get worse.

mummyGof2boys · 22/08/2017 18:53

You ok? Try and not worry and if you do have concerns ask your midwife DO NOT GOOGLE lol.

Damn hit send before I was finished grrrr

Lauralou031986 · 22/08/2017 19:33

Anyone had any cravings? I have an urge to have a McDonald's lol

blueobsessive · 22/08/2017 19:44

@CL1982 I agree with @mummyGof2boys (as ever) re weirdness of fanny daggers and importance of some non Preggers related reading/ watching material (episode 3 of trust me is on tonight: which is nicely watchable and well acted tosh to break up the preggers movie binge)

The one thought I had was whether you have gone from zero to 100 on your pelvic floor exercises. Yes, they are important if we ever wish to laugh without peeing (indeed DM: remember - of the correspondence- says they are the most important exercise a woman can ever do (!):)). After I had Olivia I went to see a physio about something else. As she was also a women's downstairs specialist I asked her how to really actually do pelvic floor exercises properly as I knew they were important but didn't know if I was doing them correctly. She said that they are useless if you don't relax com-pleeee-tely after each squeeze, or the muscles can become tight and hypertonic (and then the cervix takes even more yonks to open when the time comes). She recommended visualising a dimmer switch and doing them to 30% x10 on / off rapidly followed by complete release each time for 5 secs and at 30% intensity 10x 10 second keeping squeezed while keeping breathing followed by full release. The occasional90% emergency stop is ok if followed by complete release. Our Pilates teacher always Says 'and relax com....ple....tly... ' to cue timing - although the couple of chaps in our lessons are probably a bit none the wiser.

Doubt it will stop the daggers (lots of stuff going on down there after all) but may help if you have only recently begun pelvic flooring.

Summerblush1982 · 22/08/2017 19:48

Hi ladies,

Just catching up on today...
@KR12 you will definitely be seen. I had weird pains in my stomach at 6 weeks. Pains were so sharp they woke me up during sleep. Doc referred me for a scan for my peace of mind. Have you contacted your doc/midwife?

11 weeks for me tomorrow. Think I can already see a bit of a bump. Not sure if it's bump or constipation hmmmmmm Hmm

mummyGof2boys · 22/08/2017 20:03

@blueobsessive 😂😂 I am completely useless at pelvic floor exercises and after two babies when I need to go I need to go 😂😂 will be millions times worse after this one lol

@KR12 are you ok?

I have another bloody sore head today and my pelvis feels like it is going to split in half.

Bananamama1213 · 22/08/2017 20:03

8 weeks with baby 3 here 😊

mummyGof2boys · 22/08/2017 20:08

@blueobsessive that the one with the nurse pretending to be a doctor? Any good?

mummyGof2boys · 22/08/2017 20:08

Hi @Bananamama1213 I'm 13+4 with number 3

CL1982 · 22/08/2017 20:44

@mummyGof2boys @blueobsessive I have out the books down! Good advice from both of you.

When you say fanny daggers...this is more to the lower right side of my bump. Is that the same thing? By my right hip bone but IN it that makes sense.....?

May need to go back to my nice lady I used to chat to-I am a bundle of anxiety. Will try some meditation and mindfulness I think!

OP posts:
blueobsessive · 22/08/2017 20:58

@mummyGof2boys it's quite fun if you can suspend disbelief. And they are in Scotland too :)

@CL1982 there are some ligaments about an inch - inch and a half in a bit from the top of the hip socket. Bits of the pelvic floor also attach around there. Mindfulness can be really powerful as pain relief. I use it for rheumatoid flares . It's important not to judge/ tell yourself off though. When I started I spent most of the time telling myself off for mind wandering and worrying whether I was doing it correctly. That's kind of not the point.

KR12 · 22/08/2017 21:15

Evening ladies,
Yes, got myself an emergency GP appointment today and they've booked me in for an early scan on Friday. Pain is very dull and more uncomfortable than anything... bleeding has stopped thankfully.
Keeping everything crossed for Friday.
Thanks for all your concerns xxx

CL1982 · 22/08/2017 21:40

@KR12 Great news. Everything crossed for then ❤️

Mimilicious013 · 23/08/2017 07:25

Morning ladies .hope you all had a good night's sleep.

Everything crossed for you @KR and glad bleeding has stopped.

@CL1982 , l had those fanny daggers but more to the left side especially when l was laying down on my back. Had them for a good 2 weeks but have since subsided. I would also say it's normal in pregnancy but if it's too painful or you are in doubt, best be checked out.

Hie @summer, 11 weeks for me Friday. No bump just a big belly lol.

Hope you are feeling better today @laura and yes I have cravings too 🙈. I would kill for a pizza for breakfast. I wonder just how big l will become.

SS81C · 23/08/2017 07:51

@CL1982 That definitwly sounds like really normally stretchy ligament type pain....everything is starting to grow pretty quickly now so its nornal....definitely put the books down.....and don't Google anything. Or if you do use the NHS website only. Oh and dont search anything on here! Haha!! The threads on here are the worst for anxiety.
I've got my nuchal scan today and I've been awake half the night worrying about what the nuchal measurement is gonna be and fretting because I was a bit forgetful with my folic acid......face-palm. Just tired and grumpy now. Wish me luck!!!
@KR12 hope all is settles down today
@mummyG I couldn't watch it but I work in healthcare and I just found it really uncomfortable.....other people have said it's good though!
Any Game of thrones fans? We watched this week s episode last night and I've had some super odd dreams! Haha!

Mimilicious013 · 23/08/2017 07:59

Best of luck with your scan @SS81C. Keeping an eye on your exciting update later

mummyGof2boys · 23/08/2017 08:00

@SS81C huge game of thrones fan here. This weeks episode was amazing. I was on the edge of my seat. The only thing I didn't like was the last bit, thought it was a bit far fetched with the chains etc. Anyway lol I'm sure your nuchal measurements will be fine. I have completely forgotten to take my folic acid this time. I think I took it for about 4 weeks.

Iv been up all night tossing and turning, finally fell asleep at 3am and then the boys woke up one after the other grrrrr

Lauralou031986 · 23/08/2017 08:06

@Mimilicious013 feeling better thanks, had a rubbish nights sleep tho bit similar to you @mummyGof2boys lol iv also forgotten to take folic acid I took it for the first 12 weeks tho, @SS81C omg love game of thrones can't believe it's the last in the series next week 😩 it going to be gooooodSmile

SS81C · 23/08/2017 08:44

@Lauralou.. ..oh wow is it already....i knew these last two series were short......
Yeah I thought that was a bit farfetched too and I couldn't get my head round the walking bit....felt like they'd be walking for days.....haha. I never get time scales with it thoigh....i mean surely sersi' s hair should have grown by now???

Thanks everyone....fingers crossed for an exciting update later. DH has managed to get time off so is coming to this scan and I'm desperately trying not to overfill my bladder again! Haha!!

SS81C · 23/08/2017 08:45

Oh no @MummyG - it's so typical at the moment that my DD seems to sleep great when I have a bad night and then when I am sleeping she's awake every hour!
