Positive then negative tests

Hi, this is my first time on mumsnet and was wondering if anybody has experienced anything similar..

I'm 26, live with my boyfriend (no children) and I have been on the pill for approx 10 years. I recently missed 2 pills during my first week back on the pill after my period. I managed to speak to a pharmacist a few days later who told me stop taking my pill immediately. He said it would cause a withdrawal bleed (which it did for a few days).

I would have conceived on 24th July, the week after I started to get lower back pain so 2 weeks later (7th August) I checked and tested positive on 2 different pregnancy tests. The next day (8th August) I had very small bleed of a couple of drops of fresh blood but nothing more, it was thin in consistency and I have not bled since. Since the 7th August I haven't had any more positive tests only negative, and my blood results came back negative. The doctors thought it could be a chemical miscarriage but I'm still having the back pain and some stitch/cramping feelings in my tummy and lower abdomen. He said the only way I'd know for sure was if I have a period - which I haven't yet had.

I've read a few threads on here of people who have had positive tests then negative tests and didn't get anymore positives until approx 8weeks. Has this happened to anybody else? The waiting is killing me and I don't feel any 'less pregnant'.

Thank you,

Jess :)
