Hi there

This is my first pregnancy, I'm 33 and only 4 weeks pregnant. I definitely don't want to be one of those women who worry about every little things but I just wondered if anyone else experienced tummy pains and lower back pains as early as 3-4 weeks?

I've only just had the BFP from a Clear Blue digital and am apparently 2-3 weeks although I'm sure I'm a little further ahead than that.

I've already got heartburn, enlarged boobs, a bit of nausea and pains in my tummy and back.

No bleeding or strange discharge so far.

Having to sit with a hot water bottle on my tummy to ease the pain.

Is this normal?

Any feedback greatly received.

Thanks you Smile

I was having terrible stomach pains in the week leading up to my BFP. I was being woken in the night with pains and having to grab hot water bottles to ease the pains and had really bad cramping as well as back pain.
All through my pregnancy I've had constipation and trapped wind so I think this is what the pains were (along with some implantation pains). But the majority of the pains passed at 7 weeks but still got the odd twinge as everything is stretching inside!
As long as you're not getting sharp pains in your left/right hand side like ovary pain or bleeding along with your cramping then I'de say you're fine but if you feel its not easing then defo call your EPU. You're ok to use a hot water bottle as long as it has a cover on it and over your clothes and my dr said small amounts of paracetamol are ok (I try to use as last resort though) but do not take any anti-inflammatory drugs.
Hope this helps Smile

Hi Scottishem

Thank you for replying!

I've had the odd little ovary twinge but nothing that lasts very long. I'm definitely constipated though so will get some prune juice tomorrow.

Haven't even told my GO that I am pregnant yet as I only got my BFP on Saturday!

Fingers crossed all will be well.

Are you still pregnant now or has your bambino arrived?

Hi, I had severe cramping and back pains right up until around 11 weeks. It was as scottishem said a mixture of gas and implantation pains (mostly the latter). I was having the pains right from ovulation!
Currently 30+4 weeks pregnant. This is my 3rd successful pregnancy and they have gotten worse with each one.

The problem with early pregnancy symptoms is that they are awfully similar to period symptoms. 5 pregnancies and I still struggle with the differences. The only thing I can say for sure is that I always feel like my uterus has been 'switched on' when I'm pregnant as opposed to the usual dull sensation of an impending period.

Thank you ladies!!!

Feeling much better now.

This is my first pregnancy but I swear I could tell almost as soon as I had conceived, even when the tests were all negative! I guess I'm really in tune with my body, which may or may not be a good thing!

I'm very excited though Grin
