Seeking positive stories for my BF

Hello, hope you can help me. My Best Friend has met the chap of her dreams and they are settling down and getting wed. They would love to have a family together, however he had a vasectomy 18 years ago.

They have seen a consultant about reversing the operation but they say it can't be done. BF's DH2B is prepared to undergo the treatment where the sperm is removed directly from the testes to be used in the IVF.

I was wondering/hoping that anyone out there could pass on some positive stories where this treatment has resulted in a baby, particularly those where the vasectomy took place over 20 years ago.

Thanks in advance. I just want to give her some hope that this can be possible.

I know my great Uncle had his vasectomy reversed but not a clue how long it had been done originally. He had a little girl and then it closed itself up and he had to have it reversed again and now has a little boy.
( Well thats the story my nan told me!!)

I know its not much help but what I wanted to say is that I know someone go on to have two kids!! I hope this makes sense!!

My friend's husband had an accident as a child so didn't produce sperm (or at least I think it didn't come out properly- which I guess is similar to a vasectomy?). He had the operation to get the sperm out directly from the teste and they had ICSI- their DD is now 7 years old.

Hiya, a friend's vasectomy reversal didn't work, it had been done about 10 years before, but they took the sperm directly and they have a lovely baby girl now... good luck to your BF x
