Scan at 7ish weeks

I had a transabdominal scan on Monday which on my dates would have made me 7+4 but in reality I was more likely 7+1 as i did not ov until day 18. The heartbeat could not be seen and I have another appointment for a scan on 10 April. The gestational sac was in tact and clearly visible. Has anyone else had a similar experience? I am now panicking that it is more than being scanned too soon.

Sounds fine to me. Its borderline whether they would see heartbeat at that time. I certainly wouldn't worry about being dated a few days ahead either. Why did you have the early scan? Did you have any bleeding / other cause for concern?

I agree that it sounds normal for that stage so I wouldn't worry unless there are other reasons to do so... Fingers crossed for positive results...

I had a scan at 6 weeks (although I was thinking I was maybe 6+1 or 6+2) as I had some bleeding. It was also a transabdominal scan and she only saw a sack and yolk sac - no fetal pole and put me at just over 5 wks. I was pretty sure that I was 6 weeks and it did concern me. I had another scan yesterday and I saw a heartbeat for the first time (I have had 3 mc's and never got past 6wks and never seen a hb!). They dated me yesterday at 9+ weeks which matches my dates, so it appears that the dating on the first scan was wrong, and the sonographer said that when things are so small it can be very difficult to be accurate. Also, you do not see as much on an abdominal scan as a vaginal scan, so it could be possible that there is more there that they could see.
I really hope that your next scan is positive, I had 3 weeks between mine and was so up and down with my feelings.

It is probably me being paranoid then. No there is no bleeding but had an early scan as I conceived on clomid.

at 7wks it would be 50/50 if they could see the hb with a transabdominal scan (much more likely with a tv scan)

with my first pregnancy (also clomid)they couldn't even see hb with tv scan at 6+5 - at 7+5 they could see it clearly with a ta scan (DD is now 15months!) - it's suprising the difference a week makes when beanis is so small, (especially as you know your dates are off a bit from what's classed as "normal)

fingers crossed everything is okay, it's awful being in limbo-land not knowing.
