Ivf ladies, tell me your hcg levels when you got your bfp

I got my BFP on Monday after successful ivf. Had my bloods taken too and the level was 124.
The nurse said the level was good for saying my urine test was a faint positive. It wasn't the darkest line but certainly not a squinter. Think I must have made a face as she very quickly said 'but all ivf ladies have faint positives'.
Would you ladies mind sharing your hcg levels from 4+ weeks pregnant.
I also told her I had been getting cramps. Not painful but just uncomfortable. She said it's not normal and I shouldn't be feeling anything as the embryo is so small. Although afterwards she did say that most ivf patients say the same.
I've been going out of my mind all week! I did a cb digital yesterday and the weeks indicator has moved up and a cheap line test today which was really dark but now I have cramping again.
I don't go for another blood test until Tuesday when I will be 5 weeks. This is worse than the 2ww.

Hi OP, I agree with Utter - it's not so much the number, but how much it is increasing. There is a page in 'What to expect when you're expecting' that lists the 'normal' HCG range for each week in the first few weeks. It's amazing what a massive difference there can be between perfectly normal pregnancies. I am nearly 7 weeks with ivf pregnancy after 2 mcs and have been having similar worries to you x x x

Muckipup · 12/08/2017 18:39

Also, I've had mild period cramps on and off and think it's pretty normal / nothing to worry about x Hope you get some reassurance soon! Flowers

At my clinic we didn't take HCG unless it was a negative and you still hadn't came on your period.

I had mine done at 7.5 weeks and it was in its tens of thousands.

Wouldnt worry too much on levels, only way to make aure your pregnant is to have a ultrasound which you'll get an early one with it being IVF. My clinic tend to do it around 7/8 weeks when there's a heartbeat to detect.

Also I had cramps on my BFP and then so on until 9 weeks.

Sit tight and wait for your scan Flowers

Mine was 148 at 4 weeks. They said that was fine and never had repeat hcg tests but know that 'normal' can vary massively so I wouldn't worry about it.

I had period pain style cramps and back ache on and off for the first few weeks and that seems pretty normal.

Had a scan at 6 weeks which showed a completely empty sac (panic) then returned at 7 weeks to see a little peanut with a heart beat.

Agree with you about being more stressful than 2ww but just keep reminding yourself that for today, you are pregnant.

Take care Flowers

I can't remember my number but I agree with the others who say it's not the number but the amount it increases.

I had cramps right up to about week 8, nurse told me it was normal and not to worry.

Xx

I didn't have IVF but had an IUI.

At 4 weeks 3 days HCG was 18
At 5 weeks 3 days HCG was 47

My levels are very bad currently and not even doubling like they should. I've been told that I'll probably miscarry sooner or later.

I can see today (5 weeks 6 days) from my FRER that the HCG is still going up, but very slowly and I'm not due in for another blood test until Thursday (6 weeks 2 days ).

I think OP the concensus seems to be that the main thing is that the numbers are doubling every 2/3 days. Yours still might double so there's still hope, especially considering you're now getting dark lines.

Mine are low and not doubling (but still rising), so I'm expecting to miscarry. The waiting IS truly like mental torture and you have my sympathy.

Good luck and I hope it works out for you.

Zigzag99 · 14/08/2017 16:05

Thank you for all your replies, it's comforting to know that everything I am experiencing is normal despite what the nurse said.

Dirty - I am so so sorry to read your comments. I can't even begin to imagine what you are feeling right now. Life can be so terribly cruel sometimes. Hope you are getting the support you need. Take care and I really hope things work out for you soon X

Hi zigzag, mine was about 180 I think but they said ideally they like to see anything over 50 so hopefully that means good news for you.

Dirty- im so sorry you are going through that. That happened to me once too and it's truly terrible. I hope you have a lot of support around you x

Teakind · 14/08/2017 16:18

Oh and also the cramps sound completely normal to me. I was convinced that my period was on its way but they gradually got better (at about 8 weeks I think!)

Snowdog37 · 14/08/2017 17:06

I had donor egg ivf and at 10dp5dt my beta was 30, and 20 days later it was 6700 so pretty low still. But I'm 9w6d today and just saw the heartbeat again nice and fast and strong. So fingers crossed all will go well now!
I think as long as your numbers go up at least 66% in 48-72 hours there's a good chance. My ob said doubling in 48hrs isn't what really happens with many healthy pregnancies, it can be slower.

6 days after FET I tested at home and had a BFP, later that afternoon it was negative. I called my nurse and she assured me that more than likely if I tested again the next morning I would have another positive result, so I had to wait until morning. Unfortunately that evening when using the restroom there was a small mass of flesh on my underwear, it looked like a piece of muscle, smaller than a pea. Next morning negative. That was that, I took it upon myself to stop my progesterone and convinced myself I had a miscarriage. To end my cycle with insurance I still needed to go for my scheduled blood test 4 days later and my hcg level was a 32...good Lord, what does this mean? My doctor advised me to start taking my meds again and what will be will be. I go back in for a blood test in 3 days and I hoping for a level of over 100. Any similar stories?
