Hives in early pregnancy

Anyone had allergic type hives in early pregnancy? I'm 5weeks with 2nd baby and the last 6 days I've had horrible swollen hives all over my arms/legs/body.
Come up in the morning and gone by lunchtime. Seems to be no relation to food/drink, no change is anything else apart from pregnancy.
Spoke to GP and they're not concerned unless it doesn't go down.
Anyone had this? Please tell me it isn't going to keep happening!!

I had them at the beginning of my first pregnancy BUT I have an odd skin condition and used to get them often when I was younger. This was the first time I'd had them in a few years.

They stuck around for a week but I happened to have an acupuncture appointment and told her about them. I'm not sure if it was her, or they were going to go anyway, but either way it disappeared!

I couldn't take my usual tablets but I found that a bath, with oatmeal in a muslin bag placed in the bath, really helped!

I had them straight after giving birth. Came up at night, incredibly itchy and covered head to toe. They would be almost gone by 2pm then come up in different places throughout the evening. I saw a dermatologist who said it was a immune reaction to giving birth. I took loratadine (3 x daily dose), which fixed it.

Speak to your doctor again and see if you can take an antihistamine. The NHS advice has changed and some and viewed as ok if the need is there. I feel for you, it's so uncomfortable.

Hives are how I discovered I was pregnant after eating shellfish which I have never been allergic to previously. After antihistamine didn't touch it I went to our walk in centre as my tongue was starting to swell and they gave me some antibiotics which kicked in within the hour. Sorry I can't remember what they were called but the relief was amazing.

I only had them that once the whole pregnancy though so they didn't recur although I did avoid shellfish on the doctors advice for the remainder of my pregnancy. Hope you feel better soon
