Just came back from my 36 week growth scan to be told I have a 7lb 7oz baby and have now been tested for Gestational Diabetes. I have to do an at home glucose test for the next 5 days to determine whether or not I have GD. I wasn't tested earlier on as I wasn't at risk but now I'm obviously worried as I won't be able to have the water birth I wanted. Got another scan in 2 weeks to see if there's been any change in fluid or size. Does anyone have any experience of this and did you then deliver early?

Yes this happened to be. DS was estimated 7lb 10oz and 36weeks. I had a fasting glucose done which was raised so did a week of blood glucose monitoring. Had a few raised fasting ones but that was it. They decided to treat me as a non diabetic. He came out at 41weeks 10lb 5oz, claearly maceosomic and had polycythemia which is associated with untreated diabetes
