Gender Scan

Has anyone had a private gender scan at 16 weeks?
Was looking for people's experiences and if it is easy to find out the gender or is it better to wait til later on for more accuracy?

We went for a private scan at 16 weeks at Babybond and the sonographer was able to tell the sex straight away (girl!). She did a lot of checking to make sure but seemed very confident and pointed out exactly why she thought it was a girl. Usually if they aren't sure or can't see properly they will ask you to go for a walk or come back another day. Course it's never 100% and I wish we'd had the patience to wait a bit longer but our local hospital won't tell you the sex at the 20-week scan (or even confirm it) so it was the only way of finding out for us. It was nice to have something to look forward to in between the 12 and 20-week scans.

Thank you NC
My hospital does tell you at the 20 week scan, however my partner goes away for 10 weeks (NAVY related) just before I'd be due my scan hence the early one.
Was just concerned whether 16 weeks would be too early. I'm booked in at 17 weeks 3 days now! 😊
