Contractions?

Hey there.
I'm 37 weeks pregnant, is the first baby aswell and I'm a bit confused with everything us going in with my body right now. I know the baby is back to back and I'm 3/5 engaged and recently the back pain that I had are getting more intense, at the point that I can't walk properly without being in tears and also I have sometimes mild period cramps if it make sense. I don't know if I had any contraction or if what I have now are actual contractions. Anyone else felt like this or know if I'm close to labour? Thank you xx

I can't advise as I'm a first timer but I get the confusion as I'm in the same boat! 37 weeks, plug is coming away, on/off tightenings, back pain and period cramps where I also can't walk/have to stop what I'm doing.
This has been on and off for 3 days so far.
I think it's the body just getting ready.

But remember, you can always call your midwife for advice.

I'll have to ask her if everything is normal like this, I have an appointment next week.
It took me so long to fell asleep last night and when I woke up I woke up in pain again by now it's gone. I just hope the little man comes out quick because all I've done in this pregnancy is working about everything is happening xx
