First timer here.
I just wondered if they ever work out the due date from conception date rather than first date of last period? One im 3 weeks and one Im 6. (Yes i do know my actual conception date).

Im confused! Any help would be welcome.

My gp and midwife used my first day of my last period. Smile hope that helps x

You'll get a revised due date at your scan. With both DD's I was original I given EDD based on first day of last period.

My doctor went by the first date of my first period but I have PCOS so 5/6 wk cycles, so I went by conception date for everything else and was right when it came to the dating scan, so we just go by due date now.

They'll go from your period until your scan then change it. I lied about the date of my period because I knew when I conceived and wanted them to organise the scan for the right time.

We were taught that for a 'normal' 28 day cycle the due date was worked out on the basis of 9 months from the first day of your last period plus 7 days. So if your last period started on 24 January your due date would be 31 October.
My experience bears this out because my cycle has never been less than 35 days (often more), scans always showed that I wasn't as far on with my pregnancies as the expected date and each of my babies was born several days after the date I was initially given.

Thanks all. So i reckon i am 6 weeks and seeing the gp next week so i suppose i might get my first scan in a few weeks.
