Just had my results today Sad

Anyone had it? Any tips on how to manage? Guess I just want a bit of a hand hold really! Everyone being very serious about it and warning me of everything that can go wrong! I understand why by the way!

I haven't got it but my best friend did. She was advised to go on a gestational diabetes facebook group. She said she got loads of support on there, advice, recipes, how to eat safely. It is really rubbish but not forever. She has given birth now and it has completely disappeared.

I had it first pregnancy, being tested soon for this time.
Diet controlled last time fairly easy to eat well, annoying to remember to do prick test.
All disappeared after labour.

Flowers hope your ok OP I'm currently waiting for an appointment to have the GTT as im suspected to have it, MW measured bump yesterday and im measuring 2 weeks ahead of what I should be & I have constant dry mouth so who knows.

I think its a good idea to talk to people who have got this or have had it in the past as you will get some great advice that should help put your mind at rest.

I was diagnosed with it a week ago. I've changed my diet, and I second the FB group! It's really helped.

I'm on insulin before every meal and overnight. I'm 32 weeks today, the testing before and after every meal and the injections are a pain to remember and curtails freedom by carrying lots of junk (at work I inject in the loo cos I have to take my trousers down!). Diet did not help for me I was given a few days to try an try very hard I did. The mw was lovely and could see the effort and it did help but unfortunately not enough. If you do get put on insulin or Metformin please don't take it as failure. i was called in day after my gtt back to hospital.
