Did anyone conceive within a few months of medical management for a miscarriage?

I hope it's okay to post this here. I originally thought of posting it in the Miscarriage section but thought that might be insensitive as I am asking about successful pregnancies.

Anyway, 4 weeks ago I had to have the delightfully named "abortion pill" to induce bleeding as my baby's heart had stopped at 8 weeks 5 days.

I am now worried because I have read things online (that don't seem to be backed up by any studies) saying that it's hard to conceive afterwards and that it might lead to another miscarriage if you do conceive. Some people's doctors seem to tell them to wait 2-3 months but I was told there was no need. I was abroad on holiday at the time (great holiday!) so I can't query this again.

So did anyone here take Misoprostol or Cytotec and go on to conceive a healthy pregnancy soon afterwards? I am 41 so my time is running out.

Thank you, and I wish you all the best with your pregnancies.

I'm so sorry you've gone through this. I had medical management at 11 weeks in October last year, then conceived in January. Sadly that pregnancy ended in MC in march, then i conceived in April. There was never any suggestion that my 2nd loss was anything to do with the meds for the first. I did lots of reading around when choosing between medical and surgical and looked at actual evidence/research and I found nothing concerning. I hope it happens quickly for you x

Yes took me one or two cycles. Don't remember being told there'd be a problem. Good luck Flowers

Yes.
Mc in June.
Bled for months due to missed retained product, so kind of back to normal by October.
BFP on xmas eve. I was 39 at the time.

Good luck x

Yes. Miscarried at 10.5 weeks (started bleeding, had D&C). Was pregnant again almost straight away. I think I had one period and then was pregnant again. No one told me not to try, or to wait, but this was 11 or more like 12 years ago so maybe the advice has changed.

OP I didn't take the meds you mentioned, sorry if you were only interested in replies from those who did!!!!

I had medical management for a mmc in January. I unfortunately had retained product and continued bleeding which led to me being hormonally confused and having bleeding until march when I was given a course of progesterone to 'restart' things. I conceived the first month of trying after this and I'm now 16 weeks. Fx that you're not kept waiting too long for a rainbow xxx

Sorry for your loss
I had to have medical removal at 12 weeks and got pg totally by accident 1 week later - quite a shock as period hadn't returned so was basically pg for whole year!!
It wasn't easy to be honest but DD is now 12 and I gave an 8 year old too

Had mmc in March last year also medically managed with the lovely pill, conceived following my first period in April it ended in another miscarriage in June at 8 weeks although I was never sure how far the pregnancy had developed as by the time they scanned me it was just the clots left and I never felt pregnant during those 8 weeks not one symptom.

Yes - had misoprostol for a mmc at 12 weeks. Fell pregnant 2 cycles later and had a healthy baby. Sorry for your loss Flowers

I don't know what drugs I took but many years ago I had medical management for a mmc. That was in the Nov when I would have been about 12 weeks. DS was born the following Oct so I was of within a couple of months. Good luck!

Thank you for your replies, everyone.
Now I just have to decide if I dare risk it again.
I am lucky enough to already have children, so I sometimes wonder if I am pushing my luck at my age and should just call it a day. Been trying for 18 months, had an early/chemical in November last year and now this. :-(

Good evening love. Sorry for the shit you've been through. It's just shit, isn't it?!

Since I had my miscarriage surgically completed 364 days ago i conceived on the day my lovely DH and I married and I'm 30w pregnant.

We started TTC October 2016 and I got knocked up January 2017. I'm crediting the Clearblue smiley ovulation tracker for this baby, I honestly am.

The best to you xx

Sorry for your news
I remember wanting to hear positive news stories after my MMC at 12 weeks too.
(Medically managed). Bled for 14 days, 14 days later had first period.
Was careful for first 2 cycles for our own convenience (not wanting to be pregnant on holiday).
Fell pregnant on first cycle of trying.
Now 30 weeks.
Hope this offers some hope! Appreciate it's not always this easy though.
