Hi ladies
Am new here as I felt I should just share a word of warning following an experience I had.
I'm in South Africa at the moment and I had a one hour internal flight between cities. I told the check-in staff I am 27 weeks pregnant (they hadn't noticed), out of honesty I guess. They then refused to check me in, called the captain (who hadn't seen me), who promptly offloaded me as unfit to fly. I had to catch an SAA flight instead. BA's policy clearly states no doctors letter is needed prior to being 28 weeks pregnant. Added to that - the staff were really rude (talking about me, including gestures, in front of other passengers).
When I contacted BA I was told, essentially that it's a Comair flight just branded BA and that they won't take it further.
So my word of advise. Having flown Virgin and SAA (including long haul flights) within the last few weeks - would be to think twice about BA. Nothing is as fun as being stranded while pregnant...
