31 weeks pregnant and got a boil/ingrown hair on labia

Like the title says, I'm 31 weeks and I've got a really bad ingrown hair on my labia (delightful!). I've put magnesium sulphate on it over night and hoping it will do its magic by the morning. But seeing as I'm pregnant should I go to the GP? Got a midwife appt tomorrow, should I mention it to her? Though the thought of that is super embarrassing. It is horrific, biggest one I've ever had and really sore!

I'd mention it to the midwife and let her take it from there. A warm salt water bath/solution on cotton wool might help too because it's a natural antiseptic.

Mandraki · 06/08/2017 20:50

Salt, yes! Will try that thank you and will also mention to the midwife.

Post this on Sporners Corner! Although they will ask for pics Grin

As with anything like that I'd probably just find a clean flannel and dip it in hot water that's cooled to very warm and hold it on the area. If you do this a few times the puss will reduce.

Please don't pop it!Smile

Mandraki · 06/08/2017 21:01

Haha I've been on sporners corner looking for what to do! They're an odd lot!

Oh that's not pleasant! Definitely mention it to the midwife. I got this near the end of my first pregnancy. They would eventually go away but then another would appear. Eventually, months later, I went to the doctor and told them how many I'd had in the space of 2 months and I got antibiotics! They stopped after that. Hopefully yours is a one off but if not, speak to a doctor.

Dontlaugh · 06/08/2017 21:13

We are not an odd lot! We just like oddness Smile

Mandraki · 06/08/2017 21:14

Dontlaugh wonderfully odd! I've never seen so much collective joy over a picture of someone's bits with a spot on them!

Must admit when I've had a massive one, that was painful, I stuck a sewing needle in it. Instant relief!!! Then obviously throughly cleaned it. Worked a treat

JaneEyre70 · 06/08/2017 21:54

Hottish flannel usually does the trick, may take a few goes. And sudocrem!!

lucylou1234 · 06/08/2017 22:07

tweezers ! (sterilised )

Angryangryyoungwoman · 06/08/2017 22:08

Hot bath and squeeze while in it

Dontlaugh · 06/08/2017 22:31

Mandraki I showed my DH a YouTube of an ear blackhead and he's still feeling ill Grin

LBOCS2 · 06/08/2017 22:34

I watched that ear blackhead video three times. It's amazing. So satisfying.

AntiHop · 06/08/2017 22:41

It might be a bartholins cyst. Get it checked out as it may need treatment if infected.

Mandraki · 07/08/2017 16:27

Midwife told me to go doctor so I went to the walk in, showed a nurse and TWO doctors my fandango and they said it's an abscess Shock I've got antibiotics and they said try and give it a squeeze once it goes down. Ouchie!! Glad I went though, coz I just thought it was an ingrown hair!

Needle it and squeeze.

Lissette · 07/08/2017 17:03

Well done Mandraki! At least now you know what it is. Best not leave an abscess without treatment.
