I am excited about this new baby but not as excited as the 1st time. Also it seems odd not to feel more pg - guess I remember the kicking and huge tum from before and have forgotten the endless wait before you start to show and feel anything. Just don't feel like I am pg. Is this normal?
Also do you get the same pg symptons as before? I had some early bleeding with DD around 6-7 weeks and not sure if I should expect this again (I'm currently 4wks+5).
Not sure whether to tell everyone about pg now or wait til we pass the 12 week mark. I had a m/c before DD (now 22mo) and don't want to jinx things but can't help feeling confident this baby will be fine.
Sorry this sounds so melancholy but I really am happy! Maybe its the hormones!

congratulations!

Every pregnancy is different, so don't be freaked by your symptoms being not at all what you remember from before. I sailed through my first one and then was laid low by morning sickness in my second. I think also it's quite normal not to feel pregnant really early on - it'll catch up with you!

Oh yes I had a very different early pregnancy this time. No bleeding (which I had at 7 weeks with DS1). Horrible morning sickness and exhaustion which didn't happen at all with DS1. I still didn't show until 5 months but I seem to have made up for lost time and am now massive bump-wise at 33 weeks.

Congratulations.

Incidently, because the pregnancy has been so different this time everyone keeps saying 'it's a girl'. It isn't !

Thanks everyone. Its good to know that pgs are different. I know I'm being hormonal and being the contrary mum-to-be that I am, I feel disappointed not to have any pg symptons apart from tiredness. Why I want morning sickness I don't know! Guess it would make it more "real" which is stupid I know. Will go and eat more chocs to make myself feel better!

congrats!

second pregnancy totally different - you don't have time to think about it or (I found) "bond" with the growing baby like you did with the first. It is nicer in some ways though - you already know that your body CAN grow and birth a baby and that is really positive. Good luck - things are great with two!
