You don't have to, you can buy special bars to put in there while you're pregnant. Personal preference. You might want to get them out later if you're going to breast feed though.

Thank you, I have plastic bars in anyway so hopefully they should be okay. Wondering whether I should take them out a while before due date incase it makes trying to breast feed a bit messy!

I think I read somewhere that they should be taken out in advance if you're planning to breastfeed so that the holes can close up and you can make sure they're healed completely beforehand.
