Progesterone supported pregnancy

I found out I was pregnant after IVF and I'm currently taking oestrogen and progesterone to support the early stages. I'm suffering with mild cramping which I'm convincing myself is the result of something hideous but have read that taking the progesterone can stop the bleeding and other obvious signs of mc. Have 6 week scan on Thursday and am terrified that I'll be told there's nothing to see. I'm hoping for reassurance or any advice

Hi NoniB - congratulations on getting your ivf bfp! I'm also about 5 weeks pregnant from an ivf cycle. I've had mild cramping on and off and constant brown spotting. Had an early scan last week which showed gestational sac and yolk sac. Hope to see heartbeat maybe next week. This is my 3rd pregnancy (mc at 9 and 11 weeks previously) so understand the constant worry x Hang on in there and I hope you get some reassurance that it's progressing as it should. Does your clinic offer any early blood tests or scans? x

Sorry, just re-read that your 6 week scan is next week x Good luck Smile

Thank you Muckipup. The clinic sent me home with a preg test and then when i told them it was positive they booked me in for 6 week scan. GP only offered pee test too. Last week I did a Clear blue test and it said 2-3 weeks and then i did another one on Wednesday and it said 3+ weeks so I felt reassured then. The wait is killing me, have no other symptoms and am scared witless!!!

I had two miscarriages last year, one mmc at 10w and then 'natural' at 8w. My current pregnancy was supported with progesterone from the very beginning (I have pcos and glucose intolerance) and I'm now almost 24w:)

Sorry to hear of your losses mysecret123, but so pleased that you are 24w! That's great news xSmile

NoniB - I'm doing progesterone injections everyday, but also on two blood thinning injections and asprin, plus steroids. (Possible immunes issue). I think that the fact your pregnancy tests have been saying more weeks each time, shows that your HCG number is going up, which is positive!

NoniB · 05/08/2017 19:00

Thanks Muckipup! I'm delighted to hear you're 24 weeks. Exciting Smile
I guess I'm just still in disbelief that this might actually be happening for us after all this time. I'm trying not to stress but I've had no other symptoms (I know, it's only 5 weeks !)

Hi NoniB - I'll be 6 weeks tomorrow and had scan today where we saw heartbeat for the first time. Ive never had an early scan before, so have only ever seen the blank black hole of scans post-mc.
Still spotting and injecting the progesterone (and blood thinners) x
