Stretch and sweep

Hi,

I'm 37 + 3 weeks. I had a stretch and sweep today due to reduced movements over the last few days.

Much to the midwifes surprise I'm already 1 cm dilated and cervix is soft and 25% effaced.

I had the sweep at 1pm.

I'd already lost my plug this morning and now my back is killing me. Any idea if this is the start of something?

I'm 39 weeks & had a sweep at 38+5, I lost my plug too & also have terrible lower back ache. I think it's a step in the right direction but who knows when labor will start, I'm due to be induced on Sunday. Have sex, I did last night & will tonight again it's supposed to help.

My back is killing me now, hoping it's a sign!

OH is refusing sex and she could feel baby's head with her fingers - huge turn off aha!

How come you are having sweeps early?xx

It could be a sign hun this is my third pregnancy and I'm still no more clued up than I was with my first! I have severe SPD & estimated weight of baby is 9lb 3oz I also have very low iron.

Try a birthing ball? Have a warm bath & relax.

I'm having my third and last girl.
My eldest is 4
Youngest is 1&1/2.
I'll be a busy mama

Just try and relax or if you want to help stimulate labour then try nipple stimulating and/or orgasm.

Slight very irregular cramping & more lost mucus plug. My induction has been moved until Monday too so I'm a bit miffed

Have you been doing anything to help bring on labour?

Monday will be here before you know it!

We have a growth scan on Monday to find out why he's being quiet and why I can't feel him. I have an anterior placenta so I'm assuming that's why.

I have been having cramps and back ache but it's so irregular it's hard to know. No more plug lose though.

I have regular monitoring until Monday so up and down the hospital.

I've been bouncing on the ball and taking hot baths, other than that not really! Partner won't have sex with me because the sweep grossed him out. Walking kills my hips and I'd have to go on my own as partner is at work and I don't want to get half way and get stuck!

I also have a lot of pressure down there! feels like I'm constantly going to pee myself!!

Yeah it sounds like that because of your placenta, my friend had the exact same. I couldn't get a ball they didn't have any in my local shops (I live in a small town)

My partner doesn't really like the idea but he still does the deed lol. I've done some walking today but my waddle is unreal.

Sounds like your babies engaged or partially engaged. This LO's fully engaged and the pain is horrific!
