Calf muscle pain/ dvt risk?

26 weeks pregnant and for past 3 days have had weird muscle pains in both calves. Feels like I've been for a really long run only I've done nothing! For 2 mornings I've woken up barely able to walk as my hamstrings are so tight and sore. Mentioned this in passing to mw during routine appt and she asked me if I was concerned about DVT. I said it hadn't occurred to me and asked if she was worried. She said she couldnt exclude it as she isn't a doctor and suggested I go to emergency "if I'm worried". Is it just me or does this seem like either an overreaction or her covering her own back? Don't want to make fuss but then how have I managed to injure both my legs? Weight gain? Hauling about my toddler? Anyone else experienced this?

Very weird answer from your midwife! Do you have any other risk factors for dvt? Sounds like cramp to me - with ds1 I had it as excruciating, waking up screaming calf pain and in this pregnancy it's been mostly milder, nasty ache in the morning. Saying that, it never occurred to me to ask the mw about it 🤔

Thanks for your reply. Yeah I thought it was odd too. I only mentioned it to mw as I hobbled into room - muscles were stiff enough it affected my walking. I had cramps in night with first pregnancy but this is different. It's more like muscle strain. No other risk factors. Feel otherwise well. I was expecting mw to say "oh yeah, some women get that" in which case I'd have put it out of my mind.

I get sma tightening in my right calf every now and then (although have had it when not pregnant) it helps ease the feeling by flexing my toes to the floor then round me n a circle type motion until my toes are pointing up to the ceiling. And repeat.
If you have any bruises, hot/red marks unbearable pain, swelling &/or chest pain I'd call your gp/111 or even a&e depending on symptoms. When you had your booking in appt did they do a risk sheet for dvt?

Sma is some.
Stupid phone!

Could it be sciatica? I got referred pain all down my legs because my pelvis/spine (SI) joints got a bit saggy.
