Possible pregnancy after MC

Hi all,

Brand new here and a little nervous. OH and I suffered an MC back in April this year (around 6 weeks). We hadn't planned to get pregnant at that point (I misjudged the affect of antibiotics on the pill apparently!), but it was a very happy accident.

I found the aftermath excruciating, more mentally rather than physically, but we both decided that actually we would love to have a baby and began trying.

I Ovulated around 25th July and now 'feel strange', but wanted to see what you all thought about the symptoms as I don't know if I'm just getting my hopes up! AF is not due until late next week so too early to tell yet on PT.

My face would normally break out in hormone spots before AF and boobs are normally a little sore a couple of days before.

This week my face is still clear of the normal little spots, however I had a huge boil come up on my jaw which I've never had before. My knickers by the end of a work day have been very damp with just a sweet (?) smell, not overpowering (never experienced this before either!). I have very very mild period type pains, but also a sharp intense stabbing pain a couple of days ago on my left side which has since gone.

I know it's not a lot to go on, and could be nothing at all, but I can't help bit feel hopeful?

Slightly scared, slightly excited, slightly mad here!

Symptom spotting can drive you crazy and it's very easy to convince yourself that you're pregnant. Then it's hugely disappointing if you're not.

If your period isn't even due for over another week, it's unlikely pregnancy symptoms are showing up now. The symptoms are as a result of changing hormones, and your body would have had very little time to realise it's pregnant (if you are).

When do you think you ovulated? The pain could possibly be ovulation or implantation.

I had several months where I convinced myself I was pregnant (baring in mind that almost every tiny thing under the sun could be an early pregnancy symptom - they couldn't also be explained many other ways).

The month I did get pregnant, I had hardly any symptoms, just sore boobs (had those before a period anyway) and cramps (was convinced my period was coming. The positive test was a total surprise.

I'm not trying to be mean or put you on a downer, just trying to manage your expectations. You may well be pregnant this month - but I feel it's unlikely you'd have symptoms of that just yet.

When you want to get pregnant, it's so easy to think/expect/hope it'll happen right away and I found symptom spotting drove me totally crazy and made me miserable. I'd really advise trying to just wait until you've missed your period then doing a test.

I'm really sorry for your loss and I hope you manage to get pregnant quickly (or hopefully already are!).

*I mean they could be explained many other ways. Sorry
