Hurts to sneeze!

Hi all,

This is probably a daft post, but here goes!

I'm 11+2 today and feeling a bit sniffly! Every time I sneeze, I'm getting a sharp pain around the bottom of my pelvis - enough to make me wince.

Is this normal? It's pretty uncomfortable!

Sounds like round ligament pain to me. Perfectly normal. I found curling into a ball before sneezing helps.

Round ligament pain, totally normal.

... sorry to be direct, but how are your bowel movements? I have this when I'm outrageously constipated, but I am a lot further along (36 weeks tomorrow) and considerably lacking in space in that region... as other posters have said, could be rl pains too! The joys of pregnancy!!

Thanks for the replies!

I'm not terribly regular ATM, but better than I was earlier in the pregnancy(!), so it's probably not that. Will google RLP - I'm learning something new every day at the moment! Smile

I remember that pain, I got it in bed if I sneezed or moved too quickly. It was a horrible sharp pain at the bottom of my stomach, sort of at the side.

That's the one! Really made me gasp the first time - at least I know what it is now Smile

Yes I've had the same pain twice, both times I was lying in bed looking at my phone and sneezed which led to a massive pain shooting round the bottom half of my belly. Gave me a shock. Googled after the second time and it's quite normal.

Yeah, and to cough! It seems to hurt less if you press on the area?
