Promethazine / Avomine - advice

So I've just bought some of these to try... been predicted cyclizine which didn't work, and was prescribed metoclopramide but you can only take it for 5 days so no point... then realised you can buy Promethazine / Avomine over the counter. So got some... if you took it did you take it once a day or more? And did you take it at night as it suggests for travel sickness, or during the day? I start feeling sick from 12.15/12.30, then sick until end of day so not sure what's best to do.... ( and feeling s bit bad taking it without it being prescribed but I'm desperate and not finding docs massively helpful...) any tips?

Only thing that helped me was ondansetron it's amazing. Had tried everything else no change but ondansetron has made me feel human again.
Its worth asking your doctor about

Mine were prescribed by the GP, but I was on 25mg x 4 a day. They worked a bit better than the cyclizine, but the sedative effect was awful. I literally ended up in bed, awake but struggling to move or concentrate on anything (total brain fog). Mainly just stared at the ceiling and threw up Confused Got to a point where it no longer helped, so ends up on ondansetron (which is more effective but has its own set of unpleasant side effects).

Also, this website is great. If you're not having you luck with your GP, you can ask the helpline if there's a HG friendly consultant nearby and request to be referred to them.

Might help if I hadn't given you the website!
