Brutally honest please.

TheArmadillo · 27/03/2007 20:43

lovely

only problem with it I can see is the link to Balamory, but thats not a biggy.

Tutter · 27/03/2007 20:43

like

MuminBrum · 27/03/2007 20:43

I love both and it would have been my top choice if DS had been DD.

norkmaiden · 27/03/2007 20:43

I like that

trillium · 27/03/2007 20:44

Like both.

MintChocChippyMinton · 27/03/2007 20:44

like Ede too

tribpot · 27/03/2007 20:44

I'm the opposite, dislike Edith but like Edie.

On the other hand, I think it's a name of distinction. You can imagine the feminist heroine of the 21st Century being called Edith.

nickytwotimes · 27/03/2007 20:45

edith. not edie, especially with "factory girl" coming out

Posey · 27/03/2007 20:45

Like Edie, not Edith

SoupDreggon · 27/03/2007 20:46

don't like either

Boco · 27/03/2007 20:46

both are lovely

MrsBadger · 27/03/2007 20:47

Personally, I'm not keen!

rantinghousewife · 27/03/2007 20:48

Like Edie, although forever be associated with sienna miller. Not sure about Edith.

littleEasterlapin · 27/03/2007 20:48

Bit old ladyish, but I like it

Chattea · 27/03/2007 20:49

Edith sounds very old-fashioned, Edie's OKish

cece · 27/03/2007 20:49

Can't decide if I love it or don't like it at all

DeviousDaffodil · 27/03/2007 20:50

Like both.
Really nice
Heard of an Esme born the other day, thought it was a fantastic name.

edam · 27/03/2007 20:50

I like both - and agree with you that it's good to put the full, formal version of a name on the certificate.

edam · 27/03/2007 20:50

My cat is Esme...

bramblina · 27/03/2007 20:51

Find Edith very old lady-ish, but Edith Bowman gets away with it. Edie nice but it's quite "popular" IYSWIM.
You can't go far wrong with old, classical names really.

littleEasterlapin · 27/03/2007 20:53

OOh, Esme, reminds me of Salinger's "To Esme, with love and squalor".. very cool.

Couldn't ever have an "E" named child, so perversely I like them...

cece · 27/03/2007 20:55

Now Esme .... now you are talking - very stylish and cool
