O/T Car seat blankets

Hi everyone
Does anybody have recommendations for blankets that go into baby's car seat to keep them warm in the absence of using a coat please? I'm aware there are some that are not recommended but others have been safety tested for use in a car seat.
I've seen the Morckk (sp?), which seems good, but I was wondering whether there were any others worth considering?
Thanks in advance!

They're a separate category?!?

marketing hype

I always used a normal blanket, I had no idea that they did special ones Hmm

I had a winter baby (Nov 2016) and all we used were snow suits and blankets both in and out the car, never adapted the car seat with anything like that. All you've got to do is take their coat/suit off before getting in the car so they don't over heat, if you've got a cover thing you'll spend forever taking off and putting it back on

A jumper and a blanket over their lap will suffice

You can buy a car seat cosy toes if you want to - google it. If not, just a normal blanket.

Cheese it's dangerous to put a baby in a snowsuit in a car seat:

Youandme, it says took them out of snowsuit

Apologies so it does! Wasn't paying enough attention!

We had a morck for DS after recommendations from friends. It was fab, the blanket goes in the car seat under the straps, baby goes in on top, strap them in as normal & wrap the sides of the blanket over them. Nice & easy, keeps them lovely & warm & you don't need to worry about it falling off. We bought the next size up once he'd outgrown the first one. We've been given another one by a friend so will have one in the car seat & one in the pushchair this time round. I know you can use a normal blanket but the morck seemed better particularly in the cold winter when it was wrapped completely around him.

I used a normal blanket and put the heater on.

I had a morkk one and it was fab, all snugly and fitted well.

Please please don't put your babies in snow suits in car seats, the baby will not be secure and could come out in a crash.

I had a car seat cosy toes, but tucking a blanket over after you've fastened the straps is perfectly safe and distinctly cheaper.

Ameliablue · 01/08/2017 21:22

We just used normal blankets.

I had a fleece lined wallaboo - it was fantastic! I bought the cosytoes for the pushchair afterwards!!

Ellypoo · 01/08/2017 21:25

DD would just kick a normal blanket off although tried it for a while.

Thanks everyone. Smile
