Back to back baby...where do you feel movements

I'm 38 weeks tomorrow. Since 28wks baby has been head down with his bum sticking out on my left and I felt lots of stretching movements and kicks to the upper right of my bump.

At 36wk appt baby was engaged but bump seems to have dropped even more since then. Since last week the hard bum lump seems to have vanished. Both sides of my bump feel soft and I am feeling lots more movement like fluttering at the bottom centre of my bump with some kicks to both sides about midway up the bump.

I'm worried that having been in a good position for so long he has now turned back to back. I have been leaning over my birthing ball and making sure I sit upright but that doesn't seem to be tipping him back to the front

At midwife appt tomorrow so hopefully she will be able to tell me where he is but jist wondering if this change in location of movement is indicative of position

My 1st was back to back, my bump was softer all over really and I could feel the feet kicking outwards.

Of my two labours though that one was the easiest it really wasn't any more painful, the only difference was when the head came out the midwife turned him which was quite uncomfortable!

Thanks Lana. Good to hear that you still had an alright labour with a back to back baby. I am hoping for a midwife centre so my pain relief is restricted to gas and air and the stories I have read about back to back terrify me!

All three of mine were back to back and other than DC1 who I had pethadin (spelling?) due to being induced I only used gas and air. They really weren't so bad.

I had a back to back baby and was on the MLU. Don't get me wrong it was painful but I am a complete wuss so if I can manage on gas and air anyone can Smile

I had a back to back and found it very uncomfortable to lie on my back and I felt very little movement throughout my pregnancy. Never any kicks, more of just feeling the odd movement.

My 2nd was back to back, was different pain from first but didn't find it any worse 🙂
