Does anyone else feel like hibernating?

Hi, this is my second pregnancy. I'm about 8 weeks in and in my late 30s, and I feel rubbish. Serious lack of energy. Even changing my daughter's nappy was like Mount Everest today. Feel nauseous or constantly want to sleep but can't as I suffer from am allergy, and can't flipping take anything for it. Feeling grotty and overweight because I have no energy to prepare myself decent meals so I've been eating out or eating stodgy pasta etc. I have no motivation to go to work... really finding it hard to care about it at the moment.... the weight gain is getting me down as it can only get worse, feeling like an old mum this time. The worst version of me, and well, I just feel like hibernating!!

I could have written this myself.

Im also 8 weeks and feel exactly how you do. This is my first though so at least I've not had to look after another human as I can barely look after myself right now. I have spent the entire day in bed because I'm so tired.

It does get better. At least I know that from experience. I remember on the first day of my second trimester, first time around, I woke up practically dancing.
That feels like a long time coming right now....

When people don't know either, you just end up feeling like one big fat, lazy sloth!!

I hope my body motivates me to eat properly again soon! Good luck!

Yes!! I'm 19 weeks and it started getting better around 2 weeks ago. Each day at a time. Felt so guilty my DH put dc to bed every night as I was already in bed. I seriously thought I'd never crawl out of it. I'm even cooking now
I couldn't cook a proper meal for weeks.all 'bung in oven' stuff. Keep going drink lots of water if you can.

Have you found anything to work for the allergies??

Jessiecat27 · 30/07/2017 22:29

I was prescribe chlorphenamine (piriton) because they wouldn't sell it over the counter. Doesn't do much but better than nothing! I usually take phenerghan (obviously not whilst pregnant) as it's the only thing that helps

Yep - bung in the oven stuff and I feel the weight just piling on around my bottom half! Probably because I'm also not burning off any calories either. Can not wait until first trimester is over!!
