Ok so I'm about 6/7 weeks pregnant, but my partner has just noticed that I've got a big tummy for 6/7 weeks pregnant, he's telling me I'm having twins. How quick did people that have had/ are pregnant with twins start to show

Is it your first? I had horrendous bloating at that time. It went down and I got a proper bump around 20 weeks xx

ew1990 · 30/07/2017 17:27

Oh I'm not pregnant with twins though sorry x

hayl1991 · 30/07/2017 17:33

I had a bump almost immediately. I'm 10 + 5 now and have a proper little tummy coming in and I've only got one in here!

Chuffingchuff · 30/07/2017 17:37

I found that on My second DC my tummy was showing at around 5/6 weeks a lot more noticeably than with my first. I was thinking could it be twins, but nope just the 1 Smile

hayl1991 · 30/07/2017 17:39

Oh dear, I'm huge already dread to think what I could be like in 10 weeks time 😂😂

I am 11 weeks pregnant with a single baby (confirmed by ultrasound).By 7 weeks i was so bloated that someone I know realised I was pregnant and I did look about 20 weeks. The bloating is still quite bad. It may just be that at your stage.

Impatientwino · 30/07/2017 17:59

Currently pg with DS3

I got a big tummy very quickly but it evened out in the end - am now 32 weeks and measuring right on dates.

The midwife said that by your third your uterus is a bit like a floppy balloon (fab!) so you just pop out a lot quicker!

I've heard that 2nd/3rd/4th etc etc... pregnancy bumps show sooner as your stomach muscles can be weaker and it's almost as though your body remembers what it needs to do.

Not me but friends who have had twins had horrendous morning sickness and basically all symptoms were heightened. Are you much more sick than your other pregnancies?

Gunpowder · 30/07/2017 18:18

It's my third pregnancy too and it's twins. My bump only started getting bigger than with my singleton pregnancies at about 16/17 weeks. I didn't have worse morning sickness but definitely felt thirstier/hungrier (for things like cream which I never eat) and much tireder, but that could just be having 2 preschoolers.

hayl1991 · 30/07/2017 18:46

I feel much more sick then previous pregnancies, said to my OH I think it may be twins because with my last one I didn't feel sick at all and with my first I didn't either, I feel much more tired sometimes struggling to keep my eyes open, and seem to be drinking a lot and always hungry even though I eat I still feel horribly sick

I think your body just 'remembers' how to be pregnant and short-circuits to big tummy earlier on each time. Even if it were twins, the difference in size wouldn't be enough to cause a big bump this early. It's most likely just a bit of bloating.

Expectingbsbunumber2 · 30/07/2017 19:26

This is my second pregnancy and I started with terrible bloating from early on! I'm 19 weeks now and my bump is growing. Everyone is different xx
