Hi guys,
I'm just looking on my antenatal booking summary and it says;
'Marital status- Single two parent'
I am married and am concerned that this will mean anyone looking at my notes will think I am not (I have been receiving letters from the hospital saying 'Miss' too).
Does anyone know if this is worth querying?

Thanks for any advice- first post and first child!! :-)

I don't think it actually matters at all. Is your DH your next of kin on your notes?

CBPat · 30/07/2017 17:33

Yes he is my next of kin. I might ask in passing at my next appointment but thanks for the reassurance!

It doesn't matter in the slightest in terms of how you're treated, but if you want it to be accurate you can ask at your next appointment.

It's likely that your husband will be referred to as "partner" at various stages, just because it's easier than trying to remember who's married or not. No value judgements involved!

Thanks guys- it was more about the contact/ next of kin scenario were anything to go wrong- not bothered about being 'judged'Wink
Thanks for the advice!

Hi OP - I got married last year and rang my doctors to change my last name, which they did, but still left it as "Miss". I didn't realise until my booking in appointment when I got the letters through etc and I just rang and asked then to change it - was no issue! It would have annoyed me to be "Miss" all the way through, I'm proud to be married and want people we come into contact with to know my husband is my husband! Surely you can just ring and check they've got your details right?

Thanks, Yes I will check on my next appointment- that way there's more of a chance someone actually doing it! Hmm
