23+2 and the swollen hands have started already! What the Jeffs that all about!

Any tips to help?! Don't remember anything like this first time around, in fact I was still wearing my wedding and engagement rings in labour... today I feel like I'm going to have to take at least my engagement ring off!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

It's my first and I'm 23+3 and already have my rings off. Seems that I swell in the heat, midwife isn't concerned so long as it's not constant and goes when I cool myself.

Have you tried putting your hands in cool water?

tootsieglitterballs · 30/07/2017 11:57

No, not yet - shall give that a whirl!

They just feel so darn tight! So odd, and I'm certainly not warm today... shall keep an eye on it though.

Rings off, cold water it is!

Any sudden swelling should be checked out as soon as possible... It's probably nothing but swollen hands are an early symptom of pre eclampsia... Please get checked out.

Thanks @Lunalovepud - will keep an eye on it over the next couple of hours and if I doesn't go down I'll make a phone call to midwife / mat ward. Fingers crossed it's nothing, but always better to be safe than sorry.
