Nappies - how many , I can't remember!

DS1 is only 2 1/2 , but 2 1/2 years ago seems like a lifetime ago.

I seem to think we had possibly a couple of the boxes of size 1 pampers nappies , and I'm sure we went through them all, but I just can't remember. He was 8lb11oz

Any tips / suggestions of how many size 1 / size 2 to buy?

Not due until November, but as Christmas will be just around the corner, plus a potential planned c section, I'm trying to be as organised as I can be for the first few weeks by stocking up on certain things over the next couple of months.

6 week old Ds2 was 9lb and I didn't even get through a box of size 1. He's now on size 3 Grin

Wow! They grow so quick don't they!

Perhaps I'll just get a box of size 1, and a couple of boxes of 2... I'm just so concerned that he is due exactly 1 month before Christmas, so everywhere will be manic, and can't rely on DH to come back with the right ones !!

I highly recommend the Aldi mamia nappies. Just as good as pampers, if not better, and so much cheaper!

@IStoleThisUsername yes, we used mamia for our DS1 eventually, however at first they didn't agree with him, he got bad nappy rash and they leaked a lot for some reason.

Going to use pampers to start with, but also get a box of mamia to try too and hope they agree with this one as they are a huge amount cheaper!

Amazon or online supermarket could be your friend around Christmas for things like nappies.

tootsieglitterballs · 30/07/2017 11:31

@ScotsLamb I have been wondering about online supermarket shopping for when baby comes, especially if I have a section again! I hate shopping in December at the best of times, let alone with a toddler and a newborn. Add in a section and it's my worse.m nightmare!!

I have brought 3 packs of aldi size one and 2 packs of size two. I have attached the receipts to the packs so they can be changed if needs be.
I had the same problem of not remembering especially as my first was 7 years ago. I'd rather have too many than too little

ScotsLamb · 30/07/2017 12:31

Tootsie a friend has said to order a couple of supermarket shops before baby arrives then it will save favourites to help remind you.

tootsieglitterballs · 30/07/2017 12:35

@ScotsLamb what a brilliant idea!

Just get a couple of smaller packs of the 1s and 2s and do online shopping as and when you need them for the rest.

But surely your DH isn't that dim that he can't work out what nappies to buy?! Show him the empty packet, or give them the empty packet to take to the shop, that way he just needs to look for more of the same. X

tootsieglitterballs · 30/07/2017 14:06

No, he isn't that dim, he could buy nappies if I needed him to, albeit it will be most expensive per nappy pack in the shop, but hey ho!

I'm just trying to be slightly more organised this time due to it being December and quite likely a c section where I'll need him to be home looking after toddler!
