Back pain - sign of labour?

39+2. Woke up this morning with awful lower back pain, tried walking, sitting, lying down in a bunch of positions - nothing has helped. I took paracetamol and codeine and it actually seems worse than before. Just like a continuous, bad ache.

Has anyone had this and it been a sign of labour?

Yes my last labour was exactly like this, it was right in the middle of my back, after a while contractions started but they weren't frequent or particularly strong like they're expected to be. I got to hospital and was 8cm dilated and was still only contracting every 4-5 mins right up until she was born.

Good luck, sounds promising. Is everything ready?? Now you just need your baby Grin

@upyourdaisy ooh that's exciting! I'm worried I won't 'notice' my contractions when they start, or know that's what they are. I've never suffered with period pain or anything like that so I'm a bit unsure what they're meant to be like!

Luckily everything is just about ready! House isn't as clean as I'd like it to be but it never is Wink
