Even though my partner and I are elated to be with child we are still super scared about the massive responsibility tied to becoming a parent. Does anyone have any advice about what is good to do in preparation? Thanks in advance x

No advice but I'm 31weeks with my first. It's just hit me that I'm going to be having a little one soon and I can't stop panicking!
I love watching him kick and move about inside but he's going to have to come out soon....

Make sure you've got the basics in before the baby arrives- there's a helpful article here on MN about what you really need. A lot of stuff marketed at new parents is lovely but unnecessary!
I was also enjoying pregnancy but worried about looking after an actual baby. She's 4 weeks now and I just got on with what needed doing - not sure if it's really hit me yet!
My key piece of advice - if you are offered help, in any form, take it! Even if it's just someone making you a brew.

Nothing can prepare for you becoming a mum. I felt like that with my first and when she was born it's like all the natural instincts kicked in. It's the best thing in the world being a mummy.

As a poster said before, nothing prepares you!
From personal experience I'd say don't read any baby books on routine Grin, take advise from others with a pinch of salt, most babies are restless, windy, suffer from reflux and difficult to settle for the first 4 months, the fear of becoming a mum is much greater than being a mum iyswim.
