Hi all,
I had my booking in appt yesterday and forgot to ask if/how/when I would hear back from the blood tests. Do you get any info routinely or only if there's a problem?
Thanks

At the trust I work at you get told your results at your scan appointment. Unless there is a problem with them before then where you will get a phone call.

Yes I have just had my 12 week scan and they gave me my blood results than, they put them in your yellow maternity folder.

I think it depends on where you live. I'm Scotland based and received my results by letter after about a fortnight. They were all negative though. If the tests had found anything I would have had a phone call within about 3 to 4 days. The midwife also went through all the results again at my 16 week appointment. They weren't mentioned at my scan.

I was told my post and sent the results which I needed to put in my notes. These arrived before the 12 week scan.

I'm in Essex and wasn't given my results back until my 18 week midwife appointment! They'd have been in touch though if needed.

I didn't hear anything about any of my blood tests from the booking appointment until the next midwife appointment.

All results were fine in my case. I'm presuming they'd have been in touch if anything abnormal had shown up.

Thanks all :) Hopefully I won't hear from them then!!

Pretty much this, though they didn't actually told me they'd done it! They said they had put the confirmation letter for my 20 week scan appt in my notes, I found the blood results when I was looking for that. My results were all normal though, I don't know if they'd have told me sooner if there'd been a problem.

In my area maternity folders are bright pink! not relevant

I'm in Berkshire and was told at my booking in appointment that I would receive the results at my next midwife appointment - at 16 weeks. But when I went in for my 12 week scan they had the results on the system already and she checked them because "some blood samples had gone missing recently and they needed to make sure mine were there".

So if you haven't heard anything by your 12 week scan it would be worth asking then. (This was during the blood test part, not the actual ultrasound part which was done in a different clinic).
