Measuring big

Hello everyone,

Baby number 2 and currently 30+2, I had GD in previous pregnancy but had a lovely low number at my GTT this time round. First pregnancy measured fine throughout and had a baby at 7lb 15. This time round I am measuring 4 weeks ahead?? Should I be worried? I feel huge (bigger than at full term with my 1st). I am 5ft 2 so you can really see I am huge too!

Have you been referred for a growth scan? If not you probably will be, and they will also probably want you to do another GTT. I'm measuring off the chart with this pregnancy and baby is also measuring off the chart (in scan measurements). So having another GTT and probably another growth scan too (I'm 32 weeks).

Both measuring bump and scan measurements can be inaccurate though!

No need to be unduly worried though!

I only had my GTT last week though and was already measuring big at that point. So far they are leaving me to my 36 week scan (normal here) but part of me is wondering if I should go and and get a private scan to check

I too am 5'2" and at 29 weeks am measuring 3 weeks ahead. Midwife wasn't overly concerned last week and I am booked in for my normal 34 week appointment with her with no mention of other tests or scans. I feel huge and very uncomfortable and am not looking forward to the next 10 weeks! You have my sympathy...try not to worry, they seem to be monitoring you and happy so far.
