Am I going into labour?!

I'm 39 + 5 days pregnant, and I seem to have a few 'mild' symptoms of going into labour but just don't feel like I'm getting anywhere.
Over the last few days I've had regular but painless contractions, like BH but they were every 5 minutes for about 3 hrs then eventually died down.
I've had 'the runs' 🙃
Period pain like cramping along with BH
Back ache
I've also felt quite tired today....
my friend is saying baby will be here any day but I'm not convinced myself as I've not had actual painful contractions or anything.
Did anyone else go through this?
I've also not had any bloody show (that I know of) but quite a bit of discharge over the last couple of weeks.
It's my first baby so I'm clueless really 😫

I'm watching this thread with interest as I'm 39+1 with my first and I have the exact same symptoms as you!

A friend of mine who has a baby said it sounds like pre-labour, but I'm getting fed up of the hours worth of regular BH for them only to die off...! Keep hoping it's the real thing starting off but no joy so far...

Just keep clock watching girls!!

I got told endless stories about 'Don't worry you'll know when you're in Labour!'
Thing is I didn't and I actually wouldn't have gone into hospital if my mum hadn't insisted I go in to just check. I was in fact in slow labour which sounds very similar to your symptoms, I only went in because very slowly the BH got closer together. The only part of my labour that was difficult was the amount of time it went on for (this started Wed night, eventually had her Mon).
Subsequent births have been short and sweet but just as easily missed with no real 'start'
Hope you pop soon!! Xx

Apparently having the runs is common before labour as your body is in preparation for giving birth

I rang the birth centre I'm booked in at when the BH were really close together but she said wait until I feel pain with the contractions.
I've read some women don't necessarily feel pain until after there waters go! I just don't want to be no where near the birth centre when babies head is popping out 😫😂

How have things progressed?! Had the exact same and was 3-4 cm dilated they were going to send me home and then 24 hours later they did a examination and realised i was fully dilated and dd arrived at 31+2 :) good luck xx

I woke up at 5:30am this morn with bad period pains and back ache, felt like I needed to go to the toilet (TMI) and I was just very gassy. Started timing these contractions and they were about 7-8 mins apart. Went back to sleep and woke up about 8:30am and had to run to the toilet, had awful runs Blush but my contractions started again! AND I lost my mucous plug, and I've been losing bits all morning. I've had contractions since then but they've been quite irregular, not as painful... birth centre said it's not worth coming in to be examined until they're more painful but don't feel like I'm progressing Sad

Sounds like pre-labour; I had this for a week leading up to full blown labour. It did the trick though, went in to have a sweep and was already three centimetres. Pain-wise, the tightenings did get gradually more painful; I had been worried about not going soon enough but they got to the stage when I knew that this was it! Good luck!
