33 weeks - sharp pains

I'm almost 33 weeks pregnant and for the last few hours I've had some quite bad pains at the bottom of my bump. It almost feels like really really bad trapped wind, or a badly pulled muscle (even though it hurts if I'm not moving). Could this be Braxton hicks? I haven't really got any tightening in my bump, which is what I read that BH feel like, it's more just sharp pains just above my pubic bone. Confused

Does this warrant a call to MW? I really hate calling her unnecessarily, especially if it is just painful trapped wind!

Hey, I'm 35 weeks now and last week had some seriously sharp stabbing pains at the bottom of my bump, around the pubis area. Is it like that? It just passed and I think it's probably just ligaments and muscles stretching - Apparently baby has a massive growth spurt around now. If you're concerned though I'd call your midwife

MissBax - yeah it's exactly that. I'm hoping that it is just muscle/ligaments stretching so I'm gonna lie down for a bit and hope it eases. I just know if I call the MW she'll only send me up to the hospital to be monitored for the evening and I really don't want to do that unnecessarily!

I know exactly what you mean - I found a hot water bottle helped a bit. It's eased this week, although yesterday I turned in a way that pulled it again. It sounds like it could be the same as what I've had but obviously if you are concerned just get it checked. Is baby still moving as normal?

I've had something similar which turned out to be Braxton Hicks !! Howevr other week I had very sharp pains around the same area but more on the right! Turned out the baby had grown on a nerve but these things are always best to get checked out if you're worried! X

Baby is still moving so I'm not too worried there. I tend to get worried about the smallest little things anyway, so I try to avoid overreacting to everything if I can! I just wanted to see if this was a normal thing and it seems as though other people have had similar which has put my mind at rest a bit!

Glad to hear it OP :) I think as long as baby is still kicking around then that's a good measurement of health

I'm 33+3 and having similar pains this week...I'm getting sharp pains at the bottom of my bump usually on the right hand side, which I am putting down to ligament pains. They're very similar to pains I had earlier in pregnancy which were round ligament pains. These usually happen when I get caught unawares by a cough or roll over too quickly in bed.

But I'm also getting what feels like a general achy tummy every now and then, feels like trapped wind/gas. These I'm putting down to braxton hicks as my tummy also goes really hard at the same time...
