Best maternity pads?

Can anyone advise on what the best maternity pads are? I'm due to have a c section in a few weeks time and my MW has said that it's likely I will only need maternity pads for a few days and then I'll be able to go onto regular sanitary towels (although I'm a bit wary of this advice, so I'll still be stocking up on the mat pads!). I have no idea which ones to get though, can anyone tell me which brand worked well for them? I've also read somewhere that adult nappies are a good idea! Thoughts?

I was fine with the Boots own brand. Thick for the first two weeks then slim for the next few weeks.

I didn't think you were meant to wear normal sanitary towels because they're invariably scented, but I could be wrong.

My midwife told me the cheaper the better, and she was right - you basically want ones that are as similar to a mattress as possible Grin the cheaper ones tend to be bulkier and softer - I went for Boots own, or Mothercare were also good.

Asda and Tesco! They do the business well and come in thick and thin.

Just buy heaps z

Wilkinsons own brand. They did me proud, and I had a 3rd degree tear. They helped cushion everything.

Boots own brand are good. I've just stocked up for my second pregnancy and they seem to usually be on 3 for 2 offer. I got through loads first time, so bought loads this time!

I've just bought 9 packs from boots online (thanks 3 for 2!). Will this be enough? No idea what to expect!!

Another vote for Boots

Yeah 9 packs sounds fine, and I'd probably get the same of the slimmer boots maternity ones too. You can always get more if you're using lots. I bled for 8 weeks after the birth so got through quite a lot!

Oh maybe you'll not use as many if you're having a c section, but better to be prepared, and you'll be changing them fairly frequently in the first few days anyway.
