Health visitor home visits before baby is born?

I recently had a prenatal home visit at 28 weeks pregnant from the health visiting team, and was under the impression that I wouldn't have a second visit until 10-14 days following the birth of baby. However, I have now received a letter regarding another home visit from another health visitor which is scheduled to be when I am 32 weeks pregnant.

Has anybody else had a similar experience? I feel like I'm being bombarded with visits from all these different people that are just giving me the same information over and over again. Is this normal procedure? Smile

Health visitor prebirth visit is normal although as they like to arrange them for 38weeks round here (apparently this is because you are likely to be on maternity leave by then) I've never had one as I had my both my boys at 37weeks. So ended up re-arranging for a better time once I'd been discharged from the MW.

Maybe check there hasn't been an error? I had one visit and that was enough for me.

There should be a universal offer of an antenatal visit from 28 weeks. I've not heard if anywhere doing more than one but it's up to local decision I suppose

Can't think why you'd have two... Can you call them and ask if it isn't a mistake?
