I weighed myself which I hadn't done in a good few months (and they haven't at hospital either) and I've put on 4.5kg since booking in. I'm currently 27 weeks. Looking to get a sense of what's average. I've also heard you put most weight on after 30 weeks...

I'm exactly the same - 27 weeks and 4.5kg.

Think everybody differs and if there was anything to worry about they would have you monitored. I lost a stone in weight in the first trimester due to morning sickness and now at 36 weeks i'm only just back to my original weight. Well I think I'm 3-4 lbs heavier. So qll in all I put on 1st4lbs but because I lost a stone from my original weight I've technically only put on 4lbs. But baby is measuring above average! So I really wouldn't worry too much about weight gain. Ive never understood why theyve only weighed me at the beginning. Maybe it just doesn't mean too much as long as everything else is fine? Who knows. I know they do weigh you again in the maternity emergency bit if you have to go in if you're worried for any reason but those are the only 2 times I've been weighed throughout the whole pregnancy. Weird. Anyway, Enjoy the last trimester of pregnancy 😀😀

feelingblue123 · 24/07/2017 15:34

I'm 28 weeks and I'm 3kg lighter than booking in at 9 weeks. Baby measuring 3 weeks ahead.

SelfObsessionHoney · 24/07/2017 15:36

I put on 19lbs when I had DS at 37+5, a week and a bit later I'd lost 21lbs. DS was a chunker and apparently my placenta was big Grin

Liketoshop · 24/07/2017 15:42

Too much

hrfvenia · 24/07/2017 15:43

I'm currently 39+3 and weigh 14st6. I was 12st10 at booking appt so 1st 10? I'm not bothered, MIL put 5 stone on when she was pregnant with my OH!

NiceCuppaTeaAndASitDown · 24/07/2017 15:45

I'm only 23 weeks and have put on a horrendous 12kgs :( no one seems concerned other than me, but that's what some people put on in their entire pregnancy!!
I find it horrifying

KimchiLaLa · 24/07/2017 15:47

Thanks all, from your responses it doesn't seem I have much to worry about...

I was 12st 8 at first weigh in, now 13 st 7 at almost 33 weeks, so 13lbs. Had lost 4 pounds early on so 17 lbs if you look at it like that. More recently, 3rd trimester whilst it's up and down daily, it's averaging out at 2 to 2.5 lbs a month.

I have heard that in the last 3 to 4 weeks you may stop gaining so I'm only hoping for a couple more pounds.

mummabubs · 24/07/2017 22:01

At 29 weeks I've put on 1st 10lbs, (10kg?) but the secretary at my work put on 7 stone with her first child as all she could stomach for 9 months was icing so she'd literally eat blocks of it! That's what's currently reassuring me that I'm not doing too bad! 🙈

user1497699830 · 24/07/2017 22:09

I'm so glad someone has asked this question because I'm worried. I'm 26+4 and weigh 2kg (4.4lb) less than i did at booking. I've read that i should have put on around 8kg (17lb) by now. I'm worried I'm not putting anything on, but I'm eating LOADS!

KimchiLaLa · 24/07/2017 22:37

One of my friends told me she lost weight so I think it is more common than thought!

I can't imagine losing weight as my boobs are huge and of course I do have a slight bump now. So I'm obviously bigger. I'm more concerned that I obviously want to eat right but don't want to put lots of weight on my arms and legs etc which doesn't feel necessary.

I am doing light exercise a few times a week as it lifts my mood and generally makes me feel less bloated.

i had put on 10kg two weeks after birth and now my little champion breastfeeder is 3 mo I'm lighter than I was at booking GrinGrinGrin

gracey1 · 24/07/2017 23:18

I'm 28 weeks and I've put on two stone 4lbs. I genuinely can't stop eating... ☹️ and very worried about nog losing it after bump arrives.

annlee3817 · 25/07/2017 07:59

I put on four stone in total, but quickly lost it. I had a lot of water retention

owltrousers · 25/07/2017 09:26

I'm only 15+4 but I've not put on any weight yet, I'm exactly the same as booking. I think because I can't drink my beloved beer anymore and I can only stomach small portions of food so things have kind of evened out.

BillBrysonsBeard · 25/07/2017 10:28

I lost weight but only because I was huge to start with and started eating sensibly! In both pregnancies the weight has piled on afterwards during the sleep deprived lack of routine sugar craving stage Blush

Lunalovepud · 25/07/2017 10:33

I don't weigh myself when pregnant (currently expecting DC2) and put weight gain into my pile of things to worry about after my 8 week post natal check up.

I lost all of my baby weight in 3 months on slimming world... You're about to have a baby. If you're midwife isn't worried about your weight then have a cake, put your feet up and worry about it later. Grin

Treesinbloom · 25/07/2017 10:34

There are so many variables it's hard to say.

DS1 - I lost weight in the first 12 weeks. Then put on 10kg by 28 weeks (I was still seriously sick but needed to function so ate lots of biscuits just to keep going).

In the last 10 weeks I only put on 1kg.

DS2 I put on weight more gradually - 12 kg overall.

Both times I lost it all no problem then put some on again through sleep deprivation that lasted years

accidentalgrownup · 25/07/2017 10:46

First DC I put on a whooping 4 stone 5lb!! Baby was 9lb 6. This time round I've put on 12lb at the half way point.

Really hoping I don't put on the same again (I didn't lose it all before getting pg again).

accidentalgrownup · 25/07/2017 10:47

Whopping not whooping... certainly wasn't happy about it!

kel1234 · 25/07/2017 10:50

I put on 22lb, or 10kg throughout my whole pregnancy. Started at 62kg, was 72 at the end.

PastysPrincess · 25/07/2017 10:51

I'd put on 37lbs from my pre pregnancy weight by the week before I gave birth. I weighed myself the week after and I was 44lbs lighter.

KikiA · 25/07/2017 19:31

34 weeks and I've put on 6.5kg but I had hyperemesis up until about 20 weeks so I'd say probably more like 10kg.

Sasmac2017 · 27/07/2017 09:48

Omg you guys are so lucky. I'm 36+4 and have gained about 16kg which is 35 lbs. I'm happy though as started off about 61kg and 171cm, and with my first I gained 40kg (85lbs) and I lost it all quickly. This time I had gained about 7kg by 20 weeks. I think my body needed it, I was very lean and muscular with little body fat.
