Currently 38+5 with first baby, we're having a girl. I've finished work, house is reasonably clean, partner works 5 days a week. I just feel so bored and like I'm just waiting for the baby to come! I'm excited to meet her, but slightly anxious about the birth.
Also I'm paranoid about going overdue, the possibility of being pregnant for up to another 3 weeks is so so depressing.

Anyone else in the same boat and want to support through to birth?

Hey OP, I'm 36+4 with my second. I can't wait for baby to be born as its getting pretty bloody uncomfortable. Is this your first? I was two weeks late with my first, every day felt like a decade. I've finished work too, but it's been nice and I've been resting lots. I hope I go a little early this time. Not long for you now though, lucky thing :)

And also, try not be anxious about the birth. It will be what it will be. Not sure if you've had other children, I was induced for my first and it wasn't very nice. But with some gas and pethidine, I survived and no tearing. And I went back for seconds haha. Xx

@Sasmac2017

Ooh not too long to go! It's seemed to go so quickly since 34 weeks.
I'm super uncomfortable now, only 6 days to go! Yep, 1st baby. I'm dreading her being two weeks late, I honestly can't cope with another 3 weeks of this!

What was your experience with pethadine like? I've heard quite mixed opinions of it but I'm worried about the pain and it seems like quite a good option! X

Hey OP, to be honest I won't be using pethidine again. For me (not that I've ever done it) I could liken it to heroin or something, it was yukky. I felt so out of it and out of control but the pain was still there! The gas definitely helps. All else fails this time I'm asking for an epidural! But each to their own and I'm sure your midwife can point you in the right direction. My son also stopped breathing soon after birth, I have heard that pethidine really can affect baby's respiratory system. He's ok now though at 5 yrs old :)
Yay not long, I'm currently drinking raspberry leaf, start acupuncture next week and hope the hubby will romp lots in order to get it all going! 😂

Hi there, I am 39+5 so can sympathise - no signs of anything at all yet other than needing a wee literally every 20 minutes!

Enjoying lazing about (still not got dressed yet) but too massive and uncomfortable to be able to achieve anything very useful (including cleaning, not that the urge has hit!).

Can't imagine another fortnight, but on the other hand want to get to the 'just get this baby out' stage before I go into labour as I am thinking that might give me a bit more determination - it still feels scary at this point and I'd rather sit on the sofa watching Suits.

Our NCT leader said that to get the right amount of prostaglandin on the cervix to stimulate labour (which is in semen, hence the advice to have lots of sex) you would have to do it on the hour, every hour for 24 hours. More chance of me cleaning than that happening around here!

I'm a day behind you OP, can't really believe it is all going to kick off so soon! I have found the whole experience of being pregnant to be a little incredible, and I think I will be thinking that until I'm in that hospital bed!
