9 weeks pregnant, just passed a brown clot

Has anyone had this? Every time I wiped this evening there was a lot of yellowy discharge, sometimes tinged a bit reddy/browny. Then in the shower just now a brown clot came out, only about the size of a cherry and quite jelly like. Panicking like crazy now....

This happened to me recently at 24 weeks pregnant. Went to hospital and all was fine thank god. They couldn't give me a reason for it. Hopefully you're fine too - from what I've read, brown is ok whereas bright red blood is a cause for more concern.

Brenna24 · 22/07/2017 21:46

It always happens at the weekend, doesn't it? I hope all is well. I guess contact the EPU on Monday.

anxiouscrazycatlady · 22/07/2017 21:52

Thanks for your replies Chicci1 and Brenna. It does always happen at the weekend! I've now convinced myself I've got cramps too. Been reading up on the mucus plug which is around 9 weeks and can lead to more discharge so it could be that?? Actually in the EPU already on Monday as had a bleed a few weeks ago (had a scan then and all seemed ok) so this is a follow up reassurance scan as also had a miscarriage earlier this year. Everything panics me so much!

I know that you can pass your mucous plug very early (and it re-grows). Are you under MW care yet, or still under GP care?

Lifeofpies · 22/07/2017 21:56

It may be a haematoma (bit of bruising/blood near the sac) - I had this with DS and bled a bit including clots. Glad you're at the EPAU on Monday

anxiouscrazycatlady · 23/07/2017 18:52

You might be right lifeofpies, I had an area of uterine bleed which the doctor was calling a haematoma so it might be that flushing out?

I'm under midwife care now kingfishergreen but not sure if she works weekends and figured I'd just be wasting her time as I'm already in EPU tomorrow morning. I get so worried if my worries are big enough to bother her with!

I seem to have no discharge today, dry as anything. I'm really hoping this is just hormones and nothing sinister. What an emotional rollercoaster this is!!!

Oh op early pregnancy is such a worrying time Flowers

There are lots of things it could be which are nothing to do with baby. Glad you're at epu today and you can get some reassurance.

Brenna24 · 24/07/2017 10:05

Let us know how it goes today. Flowers

anxiouscrazycatlady · 24/07/2017 14:54

Another miscarriage :( I'm meant to be over 9 weeks but it looked like it stopped growing around 7 weeks, which is the same as last time. Booked in for an ERPC tomorrow morning. Life is cruel.

So sorry to hear your news Flowers I'm glad they've given you tomorrow to come in for your D&C. They made me wait over a week for mine, it was impossible to get on with my life knowing what was going on. Sending best wishes x
